Cute!

Recently London got to model for my sis-in-law's new blog http://www.myuniqueb.blogspot.com/. Sunni crochets these amazing headbands and bows, and they are absolutely adorable. I can't wait to order some for me and my babygirl. Great job Sunni!

Its that time again for family pictures!!

Hunter is at the perfect age and he loved smiling and posing for the camera.

London had different plans for picture day. I'm amazed that we got pictures of her smiling because she was not a happy camper.

Snow Bunnies

We had our first snow of the year on Monday and the kids were so excited. Hunter woke up and as soon as he realized it was snowing he got really excited and yelled "its Christmastime!" The whole rest of the day he pleaded and begged to go outside and play in the snow. After naptime, I finally gave in bundled them both up and sent them outside. It was hilarious watching them play in the snow! Hunter spent most of the time trying to teach London how to make snow angels, even though she wanted nothing to do with it! I had a blast watching my kids find the simplest joy in 1" of snow and I'm so excited to have many more days of making snow angels, building forts, and drinking yummy hot chocolate afterwards.

Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. I love the change in the season, having a good excuse to dress my kids up, and eating Halloween candy all month long. We had a weekend of fun attending trunk or treats and playing with cousins at grandma’s house.

Hunter turns 3!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Hunters B-day. He was so excited to have the day centered on him! He got to make all the decisions even down to his choice of birthday cake (he wanted strawberry!) I let him and London help me make the cake and of course lick the bowl. As I was frosting the cake both Hunter and London were watching me and Hunter kept saying, “London that’s my birthday cake and you have to sing happy birthday to me before you get some.” It was so cute he wanted to make sure she knew that cake was his. For dinner our little family went out for pizza, his choice again, came back had cake and opened presents with grandparents and friends. He was so excited to open presents and every time he ripped into a new one he would say “what is it, what is it” just building the moment up with every present. After everybody was gone and all the cake was eaten, I was putting him to bed and he asked me, “Mom can it be my birthday tomorrow?” I love that little boy so much he is my world and I can’t believe he is already 3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUNTER!

Lee Family Reunon 2010

Our first family road trip was quite the adventure! We packed up our car Thursday night and headed out to the Lee family reunion. Armed with numerous treats and a plethora of children’s movies we planned on driving through the night and reaching our first destination in record time. Little did we know are kids had a different plan. Driving through Wyoming at 2:00 in the morning with both of our kids wide awake, we asked ourselves what did we get ourselves into? Despite the sleepless night, we made it to Omaha, NE on Friday Morning. Dewight took us to some of his old mission stomping grounds and we got to meet some of his converts. We also attended winter quarters, and then headed to Kansas City, MO in the afternoon. We met most of the family in Kansas City, and in true Lee fashion found some great Kansas City barbeque to stuff are faces. Saturday was spent visiting church history sites there in Missouri (Liberty Jail and Independence). Some of the girls also managed to get a little shopping in as well. Sunday we woke up rested and reenergized and headed off to our final destination Nauvoo. We took the scenic route and visited Far West, Hauns mill, and Adam-ondi –Ahman. Missouri was beautiful, and these were some of my favorite spots. We made it to Nauvoo on Sunday night for the official start to the Lee reunion. We spent the next couple of days touring Nauvoo. We got to visit the brick shop, the bakery, and the blacksmith. We also got to tour the original houses of many of our prophets such as Brigham Young, Wilford Woodruff, and John Taylor. Tuesday was a special day for me. All the adults were able to attend a session at the Nauvoo temple and later that night we got to see the Nauvoo Pageant. Wednesday we finished our site seeing at Carthage Jail and headed home. We were exhausted and our family was anxious to get home, so we pulled another all-nighter and made it home Thursday afternoon.
We had an amazing time. There was definitely some lows; both our kids having diarrhea for 2 days straight, throwing up all through Monday night, and Dewight missing the last of the pageant because our kids refused to behave any longer. But the highs made it all worth it. It was so great to get to see our whole family and to be able to feel of the spirit as we were visiting all these sites. I remember walking down the trail of hope, reading all the trials that the saints went through, and realized I can’t complain about my kids and spending so much time in the car when these people had to make this same journey in wagons! My testimony also grew regarding Joseph Smith. He was an amazing man and a true prophet of god. Being in Liberty Jail and hearing about everything he endured and still keeping his spirits high and continuing to serve our lord with all his heart and mind was very humbling. And last being able to attend the temple and get a glimpse of what the saints had to sacrifice to build that amazing place and then turn west and leave it all behind was inspiring. We are so grateful we took this trip and cherish all the memories we made.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LONDON!

London had a wonderful B-day eating cake, opening presents, and swimming with cousins. She got lots of clothes, jewelry, and shoes, some of a girls favorite things. I can’t believe it has been a whole year since our little angel came into our lives. She is a mover and now that she is walking she gets into everything. She loves to get into her drawers and pull everything out and then move on to destroy something else. She has the cutest personality and has already learned how to throw a fit. She also loves to snuggle with dad. Her favorite thing to do right before bed is snuggle up with dad and fall asleep in his arms. I love her so much and I can’t imagine my life without her.

Weekend Fun

We got to spend Memorial day weekend at the cabin. We did a lot of fishing and relaxing with friends and family. It was a wonderful weekend and a great way to kick off summer!

London loved being outside and in the dirt. We couldn't keep her clean.

Hunter went fishing all weekend. He had so much fun cathing fish and reeling them in. when it was time to release the fish he didn't undestand gentle and would baseball throw the fish back into the water!(poor fish)

The Daily Grind

It has been too long since I blogged and life for us is moving way to fast. I can’t believe June is almost here. So before summer comes and goes, I just wanted to take a quick minute and update everyone on our little family.

London is almost eleven months. She mastered crawling a long time ago and is already taking her first steps it is only a matter of time before she is keeping up with her older brother. She is such a joy to have in our family and is so full of life. She has four teeth and is taking full advantage of them, no more baby food, her favorite thing to do is sit in her high chair (as close to Hunter as possible) with real food and have lunch. London and Hunter will just sit eating lunch together and laugh at one another. It melts my heart to see them interact. She adores her brother and also her dad. Everytime he comes home no matter where she is in the house she will bee-line to the front door to see him. And last but not least her favorite new toy is the toilet!! She is very smart and I have to be on my toes or she will be playing in the toilet faster than I can blink.

Hunter is your typical 2 ½ year old. I’ve heard every mother talk about terrible two’s, but I think Hunter has invented a whole new meaning to the terrible twos. He is a very active little boy and some days he is more than I can handle. Some days he loves to be a big brother and some days I feel like I’m constantly getting after him for picking on his little sister. But through all the trials of raising him there are always moments with him that melt my heart and make everything worth it. Just the other day I was cleaning the kitchen and I didn’t here my kids so I knew that they were up to no good. I went in search of them, to find them sitting together in Hunters room looking at books together. As I listened to Hunter read one of his favorite books to London, I was almost brought to tears. I ran back to get my camera to make sure I got a picture to remember the moment forever. Life for us is going really good some days are challenging and exhausting but I wouldn’t change my life for a second. I love being a mom!

Easter Fun

Easter was such a blast and eventhough we woke up to snow we weren't going to let it stop us from enjoying the many easter egg hunts and activities we had planned for the weekend. We woke up Saturday morning Dewight and Hunter put on their winter clothes and went to a local park for our first easter egg hunt in the snow. London and I stayed home and decided to make cupcakes. Then we were off to grandma Lees to spend the rest of the day listening to conference eating yummy food and, yep you guessed it, another easter egg hunt with family. Sunday was spent at Grandma Shawvers doing the same thing conference, eating, and hunting for easter eggs. By the time we got home on Sunday afternoon we were exhausted from all the partying and eating way to much sugar. I love holidays and i'm so grateful to have family close to celebrate them with.

Picture Day!!!

Last Thursday was picture day for the Lee family. I was so excited th night before I couldn't even sleep thinking of all the cute things I was going to put them in. But picture day does not always go the way we plan it! London is such a happy baby and is smiling all the time, so I thought she would be a natural. When we got London into the studio she would not crack one smile. The photographer and I tried everything! At one point when we were both on our hands and knees pulling funny faces and making silly sounds, I just sat back and started to laugh thinking how ridiculous we looked. Even after all that, no smile but we still managed to get some cute shots.
At first, Hunter was a little hesitant about taking pictures and he didn't like being told what to do especially when it came to sitting by his sister. Finally, when we got him alone and he realized that all the attention was him he was a star. All and all we survived and I just got some of the pictures back. As I look into those beautiful faces, I just can't believe they are mine!! I love my children so much and I live for those little smiles. I'm so grateful to be their mom and I love sharing them with you
